Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and curious Insights Analyst to monitor continuing medical education (CME) activities across both live in-person events and virtual platforms. In this entry-level role, you will be our “eyes and ears” on the ground and online—attending medical education sessions virtually and some in person, tracking qualitative and quantitative dynamics, capturing healthcare professional (HCP) feedback and quotes, and synthesizing key sentiment trends. Responsibility will include monitoring programs we support as well as ones we do not support but are relevant. The therapeutic areas covered include breast cancer and hematology. Your insights will directly inform our educational strategy, help evaluate CME programs and ensure our medical education offerings align with current healthcare provider needs.
Responsibilities
Educational Monitoring & Observation
- Virtual Event Monitoring: Attend and audit live online webinars, webcasts, and asynchronous online CME modules to ensure quality standards and track participant engagement.
- Live Event Coverage: Very limited in-person attendance for CME conferences, regional meetings, and symposiums to observe program execution, audience engagement, and session delivery.
- Audience Dynamics: Record key audience metrics, including attendance patterns, Q&A engagement levels, popular discussion topics, and overall event atmosphere.
HCP Sentiment & Data Capture
- Quote & Feedback Collection: Capture direct, non-attributed quotes, questions, and reactions from participating HCPs during session Q&A and panel discussions.
- Sentiment Analysis: Monitor and analyze HCP sentiment regarding clinical topics, treatment algorithms, therapeutic options, and educational gaps.
- Data Synthesis: Aggregate raw qualitative data (verbal feedback, chat logs, audience polling results) into structured datasets for further analysis.
Summary Reporting & Insights Delivery
- Post-Event Summaries: Draft clear, concise, and timely executive summary reports following each monitored program (typically within 48–72 hours).
- Trend and Theme Identification: Highlight recurring clinical questions, common misconceptions, areas of high interest, and emerging educational needs among HCPs.
- Cross-Program Analytics: Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly/trimester and annual aggregate sentiment reports to inform future CME content development and curriculum strategy and the Insights Reports.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors include: Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Public Health), Healthcare Administration / Health Communications, Communications or Market Research (with a strong interest in science/healthcare)
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience. Prior internships in medical communications, healthcare market research, event operations, or clinical settings are a strong plus.
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Strong Written & Verbal Communication: Ability to synthesize complex, technical medical information into clear, succinct executive summaries.
- Active Listening & Qualitative Capture: Exceptional listening skills with an eye for detail, capable of accurately capturing key quotes and underlying emotional/professional sentiments.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable organizing qualitative observations alongside quantitative metrics (polling, attendance numbers) into structured reports.
- Ability to function independently with the guidance of her/his manager, exercise good judgment and demonstrate strong decision-making skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, Google) and reporting tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, survey platforms).
- Professionalism & Discretion: Ability to interact professionally with healthcare professionals and maintain strict confidentiality regarding proprietary content and HCP identities.
Travel & Work Environment
- CME Programs typically take place in the evenings (Eastern Standard Time). Willingness to watch these programs in the evenings on weekdays and approximately 10 programs occur on the weekends. These programs are 30 to 90 minutes in length. The candidate must be willing to watch these (primarily virtually) and deliver a summary report.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel within the United States in-person conference coverage Within 1 year, there would be up a maximum of 5 trips. Some of these congress meetings may be over weekends for larger congress meetings.
