Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, it is present in more than 50 countries around the world and employs about 30,000 people of over 130 nationalities.Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A.SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.Purpose of the positionThe Fabrication Methods Engineer serves as a technical specialist within the yard, responsible for defining fabrication methodologies, developing operational procedures, and performing structural assessments throughout all construction stages—including lifting, handling, and erection of large structures.This position plays a strategic role in ensuring that all prefabrication, lifting, weighing, handling, and installation activities strictly adhere to Saipem's safety and quality standards, relevant national and international regulations, and specific project requirements.Furthermore, the engineer is accountable for verifying the structural integrity of works during temporary construction phases and for designing provisional structures necessary to maintain component integrity throughout each stage of the construction process.Evaluate construction feasibility and methods, considering resources and space.Define operational approaches for lifting, weighing, handling, and assembly to optimize fabrication.Prepare engineering procedures for lifts, weighing, and installation.Select, size, and verify lifting equipment; choose cranes according to load charts.Perform structural checks and prepare calculation reports for lifting and temporary supports.Design and structural verification of temporary works and welded lifting points.Provide on-site technical support and coordinate critical activities.Liaise with HSE, Quality Control, Production, the Client, and Design Engineering to align documentation and operations.Main technical SkillsMaster’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures, or in mechanical engineeringStrong knowledge of structural engineering and structural calculationsProficiency in the use of at least one FEM software, preferably SAP2000Ability to draft technical procedures and calculation reports in EnglishFamiliarity with relevant standards (e.g. Eurocode 3, DNV)Skills in operational coordination and interface management, including in EnglishExcellent problem-solving abilities and technical feasibility analysisSoft SkillsEffective communication: clearly explain procedures and technical requirements to multidisciplinary teams.Problem solving: analyze operational issues and identify safe and practical solutions.Analytical thinking: assess data, calculations, and complex scenarios to make well-informed technical decisions.Priority management: organize activities and deliverables according to deadlines and critical operations.Collaboration and teamwork: ability to interact with various departments (HSE, Quality, Production) to ensure operational consistency and safety.Operational leadership: coordinate critical activities such as heavy lifts, complex transports, and load-out maintaining control and safety.Adaptability: able to respond to and manage sudden project changes, unforeseen events, and evolving operational conditions.Safety orientation: strong awareness of HSE requirements and risk prevention.Relationship management: maintain effective professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and certification bodies.Apply nowPlease start your application process.IMPORTANT: Please upload a pdf version of your CV.#J-18808-Ljbffr
