RINA is currently recruiting for a SW Test Engineer to join its office in L'aquila within the Aerospace & Defence Division.

Mission

The role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products through rigorous testing and verification activities. You will work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and execute test cases to validate software functionality and performance. The ideal candidate has a background in software verification and testing methodologies.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Test Equipment Development: Develop, install, configure and validate the SW of the Test Equipment starting from requirements.
  2. Test Planning and Strategy: Develop detailed test cases and test scripts based on requirements and design specifications.
  3. Testing Execution: Execute functional, regression, performance, and system integration tests. Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability. Identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in software behavior.
  4. Validation Activities: Validate software functionality against defined SW requirements, user needs, and intended use cases. Perform usability testing and ensure user interface consistency and intuitiveness.
  5. Documentation: Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test descriptions, test reports, and test summaries. Document and communicate test results to stakeholders.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in the software testing lifecycle.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with software developers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and verify bug fixes. Communicate testing progress and results to project stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Master's Degree in Engineering General.

Qualifications

Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Python) for testing purposes and test equipment implementation. The following skills are considered preferable:

  • LabWindows/CVI and NI TestStand framework
  • Knowledge of measurement instruments like network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, RF network, and power supply
  • Ability to configure and control measurement instruments through SCPI commands
