TMEIC was established in 2003 through the integration of the industrial systems divisions of Toshiba Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

General Role Description

Prepare timely and accurate technical specifications to support large electric motor and drive system proposals/orders in the designated markets to support the detailed cost analysis for all specifications. Create a network of technical evaluator relationships with clients and vendors to build a pipeline of potential business within designated markets.

Role Accountabilities

Proposal and Contract
  1. Prepare technical specifications for fixed and adjustable speed motors and AC/DC drives systems to meet clients' Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements and to effectively communicate these requirements to the clients and internal engineering team.
  2. Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most economical solution for the application.
  3. Support the system integration activities (e.g. specification and selection of e-houses, external transformers, PLCs, instrumentation, etc.).
  4. Prepare detailed cost elements for the technical specification during quotation stage.
  5. Provide technical guidance in the preparation, review, and final commercial proposal generation to client.
  6. Lead technical and commercial proposal development for small projects with limited supervision.
Project Execution
  1. Support the system integration documentation during the project execution phase.
  2. Identify enhanced product or service feature needs by soliciting feedback from clients.
  3. Design competitive and viable technical approaches to resolve client issues.
  4. Feedback product and service deficiencies to business unit management for continuous improvement.
  5. Prepare specifications for required components.
  6. Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences and meetings with clients, at client sites as necessary or assigned.
General
  1. Review brochures for technical accuracy.
  2. Identify and suggest new products and applications to drive business growth.
  3. Monitor industry trends to recommend new product and service features.
  4. Track competitive environment to identify new products and technology and provide comparative analyses to the commercial and R&D teams.
  5. Track competitor's offerings, assess client situations, and propose competitive options applicable to the client's individual needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical or automation engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience.
  2. 2 years systems or application engineering experience in medium voltage drives and motor systems.
  3. Demonstrated success as contributing member in project team.
  4. Demonstrated successful and positive leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
  6. Demonstrated innovative problem-solving skills.
  7. Demonstrated presentation skills.
  8. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  9. Availability to travel domestically and internationally frequently, with limited notice.
  10. Fluency in English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 4 or more years systems or application engineering experience in the medium voltage drives and motor systems for metals business.
  2. Demonstrated success in client facing, sales or marketing related assignments.
