Financial Institutions Rating Analyst

Within the Risk Management function, we are looking for a talented and proactive resource to join the Group Internal Credit Rating Unit, who will be responsible for the evaluation of financial institutions creditworthiness with a particular focus on insurance and re-insurance issuers. Specifically, the analysis will focus on the ability of the issuers to repay financial obligations based on the analysis of the borrower's credit profile. The assessment will also translate in the assignment of internal credit rating.The job holder will also support the Head of the Unit in developing and executing the enhancement and maintenance of the credit rating framework and reinforcing risk management capabilities to ensure internal and regulatory compliance. In addition, part of the responsibilities will include project management leading and oversight of various analytical, IT infrastructure and operational projects.Key responsibilities of the role will include:managing day-to-day internal credit rating assignments for financial institution borrowers – mainly insurance and re-insurance counterparties, and performing credit analysis on a large number of financial institutions on both individual and portfolio basisliaising with and supporting stakeholders (CIO/CFO/BUs) to promptly clarify questions regarding methodologies and implications for the decision-making processcollaborating effectively with appropriate compliance functions and model risk stakeholders across the enterprisecooperating as needed with other stakeholders and assisting the Head of function in developing, maintaining, and managing a centralized rating tool and model inventory, as well as a rating model documentation library (e.g. tracking validation work streams, tracking status of outstanding model risk, etc.)interfacing with internal and external auditors and regulators when requestedbeing well-informed of industry and regulatory trends and best practices and credit risk managementproducing and maintaining robust analytical and process documentation to meet the requirements of Generali’s internal and external approval bodiesRequirementsOur ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or related field requiredAt least 3 years of proven experience and knowledge in credit/risk analysis of financial institutions (focus on insurance/ re-insurance) with very strong accounting knowledgeKnowledge of the Insurance regulatory environment and the industry trendsBe able to work autonomously to ultimately deliver a final product without any oversightPossess strong knowledge of financial products, business processes, and industry best practices and regulatory requirements for model risk managementRelevant experience within one of the leading rating agencies in the Financial Institutions segment will be considered as a plusFluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of a second foreign language (French and/or German) will be considered a plusSoft Skills:Advanced ability to comfortably communicate at all levels of the organizationHave a collaborative mind-set with strong interpersonal skillsProficiency in performing multiple tasks and dealing with changing deadline requirementsProject management and presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communicationProven effectiveness in interacting with and reporting to senior managementInterpersonal skills and ability to work in an international teamCompany ProfileGenerali is a major player in the global insurance industry – a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.
