- University Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in engineering projects execution, automation, logistics, or industrial operations.
- Proven experience delivering capital investment projects in manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environments.
- Experience overseeing installation, commissioning and start-up of industrial facilities and highly automated systems.
- Fluent English and Italian; additional languages are considered an advantage.
- Compensation Package: CCNL Industria Alimentare, Impiegato 2° Livello, Gross Annual Base Salary €48.000,00.
Position Summary
As a Logistics Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning and safe excecution, installation, commissioning and start-up of a large-scale automated warehouse and fulfillment center, coordinating the integration of mechanical, electrical, automation, and logistics systems into a single high-performing operation. You will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, automation suppliers, and site operations to bring cutting-edge technologies, including ASRS, automated material handling systems, BMS, WMS, SAP, and industrial controling systems, from installation through commissioning to full operational readiness and handover. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who enjoys complex technical challenges, multidisciplinary coordination, develop fundamentals of stakeholders management, overseeing a major capital project come to life from first start-up through successful handover and sustained operation, while working in a dynamic, fast-paced, diverse, and inclusive environment. You will collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders from across the organization and around the world, gaining exposure to a broad range of engineering disciplines, technologies, and operational functions while contributing to the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art logistics facility that will shape the future of Nestlé's supply chain network.
A Day in the life of a Logistics Project Engineer:
- Deliver capital projects safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Develop and implement engineering solutions aligned with business needs and Nestlé standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, automation, and logistics disciplines.
- Ensure successful integration of automated warehouse systems, controls, and digital platforms (YMS, WMS, SAP, BMS).
- Oversee commissioning, qualification, validation, and start-up (ICQV) activities through operational handover.
- Manage contractors, suppliers, and system integrators to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, technical issues, and operational constraints.
- Support project governance, technical reviews, and investment decision-making processes.Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence through advanced engineering solutions.
- Ensure facility readiness and a seamless transition from construction to full operational performance.
- Foster effective collaboration within multidisciplinary, multicultural, and cross-functional project teams.
