Scope of the Role

Within the Global Commercial Operations & Execution Team, the Regional RX Commercial Operations Lead is accountable for accelerating the global development and in-market performance of the Prescription Medicines portfolio, working in close partnership with country organizations.

The role acts as a senior Global–Local commercial leader, ensuring alignment with global brand and franchise strategies for strategic products, while enabling superior country planning, launch execution and sustained in-market performance.

Covering established and innovative products across primary care, specialty care, hospital and rare disease segments, the role requires a deep understanding of local market dynamics, regulatory and market access environments, and complex stakeholder ecosystems, and plays a critical role in building long-term commercial capabilities across RX markets.

What will you do

  • Provide global commercial leadership to RX markets, working closely with Country General Managers and local RX leadership teams to drive performance, accountability and execution excellence across the portfolio
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to country organizations, supporting and challenging country business plans, launch strategies and key commercial initiatives to ensure alignment with global priorities and local market realities
  • Serve as the primary two-way Global–Local interface, translating global franchise, brand and go-to-market strategies into integrated, executable country plans, while channeling structured market insights, risks and opportunities back to Global teams
  • Oversee ongoing execution and performance management across the RX portfolio, monitoring progress against agreed country plans, driving corrective actions where needed and ensuring disciplined, structured performance management across markets.
  • Support launch excellence for strategic RX assets across countries, in line with global strategies, by providing senior oversight and hands‑on support on launch readiness, sequencing, execution quality and post‑launch optimization.
  • Develop a deep, ground‑level understanding of market dynamics, including competitive landscape, treatment paradigms, pricing & reimbursement environments and stakeholder needs (HCPs, payers, institutions), leveraging country insights to inform portfolio and lifecycle decisions
  • Identify and address commercial capability gaps across countries, acting as an enabler for RX markets by developing targeted capability‑building initiatives in partnership with Global Capability lead
  • Represent country and regional needs towards Global Franchises and Corporate functions, influencing global strategy, investment prioritization and operating model choices based on real‑world execution experience
  • Partner with the Global Non‑Strategic Portfolio PMO to identify, assess and prioritize opportunities within the non‑strategic RX portfolio, supporting robust business case development with strong country input
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement, promoting best practice sharing across countries and driving initiatives to enhance commercial effectiveness, launch excellence and operational efficiency

Who are you

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience within the pharmaceutical RX environment
  • Proven success in senior commercial leadership roles (e.g. Business Unit Head, Country Commercial Head, Global or Regional Commercial Lead), with strong exposure to country-level execution
  • Demonstrated executive-level P&L ownership, including strategic planning, performance delivery and resource prioritiza
