The Baker Hughes Internship is designed to enable students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or recent graduates, to gain hands‑on work experience as the foundation of their professional lives. Interns will gain first‑hand insights into the processes, systems, and practices that ensure customer needs are met through flawless execution and the use of leading‑edge technology.
As a Prototyping and Testing Operational Support Intern, you will support the Technology Testing Lab (TTL) team in operational and administrative activities related to prototype testing programs. You will gain exposure to project cost control, resource planning, materials management, and operational reporting while working closely with engineers, test bench leaders, and cross‑functional teams.
Throughout the internship you will be supported by a buddy and a manager to ensure a valuable learning experience. Coaching and mentoring will help you complete assignments and projects while developing your professional and technical skills. You will also become familiar with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) and the culture of Baker Hughes, and its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Support the day‑to‑day management of RDIs, including Oracle system activities, data review, adjustments, and weekly monitoring of costs for the Florence and Massa sites.
- Assist with resource planning and scheduling activities, maintaining and updating files used for weekly operational reviews.
- Extract, analyze, and monitor operational costs, preparing periodic reports for test bench leaders and engineering teams.
- Support material replenishment requests, inventory monitoring, stock management, and accounting reconciliation activities.
- Track project costs against estimates and budgets and support periodic cost review meetings with technical and operational stakeholders.
- Provide on‑demand support for internal material handling and/or move orders.
- Provide on‑demand support for generating dedicated cost reports for critical jobs (e.g., LM9000, HEG, etc.).
- Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all activities to ensure compliance is maintained.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to learn and use ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools; knowledge of Power BI and Python is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Legally able to work in the country where you are applying, without company sponsorship or time restrictions.
Benefits
Fixed allowance for this position will range from 600 to 1,000 € gross monthly, based on academic status and distance from the workplace.
