BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

WFP's Partnerships Department's Country Office Support Hub (PPDR) helps Country Offices protect, grow and diversify their partnerships and resourcing across public and private donors. Based on Country Office needs, PPDR provides operational, strategic and business development support to strengthen resource mobilization and partnership management across a range of partners. PPDR assists Country Offices in navigatin`g main corporate reporting and partnership planning processes. PPDR also promotes knowledge management and learning across WFP to ensure teams have the information and tools they need to enhance partnerships. PPDR works closely with Partnerships divisions, Global Offices, Regional Director Offices and other Headquarters divisions to deliver timely, practical and high quality support. The Consultant will report to the Country Office Support Team Lead. The Consultant will work in coordination with donor account managers and regional offices. The Consultant will support COs' partnership journey from planning to opportunity confirmation and is expected to travel to the field where requested. The Consultant will support a designated set of Country Offices and act as a focal point for specific corporate processes, donor accounts and themes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic advice and analysis to Country Offices (COs) engaged in the development of Country Strategic Plans and related Partnering & Resourcing Strategies (PRS).
  • Provide hands-on support to COs in designing and drafting proposals, general and donor-specific value propositions, regular and ad hoc reports, and communication and advocacy products.
  • Conduct funding landscape assessments (donor mapping) aimed at exploring diversified funding opportunities for specific funding gaps identified by COs.
  • Develop tailored donor engagement plans to support CO fundraising efforts.
  • If required, support COs with donor engagement, working as point of contact for problem solving between donor focal points across Global Offices and HQ, and CO teams.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and pitches for high-value donor engagements.
  • Provide surge support during emergencies or peak periods (virtual or in-person).
  • Maintain up-to-date CO and partner knowledge, relying on available information from Salesforce, CO and Partnerships Department (PI). Track and analyze resource mobilization results across COs.
  • Contribute to HQ information requests and Senior Management briefs on CO partnerships. Specifically, prepare resourcing and partnerships brief
