PRODUCT FUNCTIONAL SAFETY & CYBERSECURITY MANAGER

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the global strategy, governance, and operational framework for Functional Safety (ISO 26262, SOTIF, ISO 8800) and Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, CN GB/T).
  • Develop and implement a balanced roadmap and supplier strategy to ensure cost-effective compliance with functional safety and product cybersecurity requirements across all products and processes.
  • Work closely with Product Safety and Security, R&D Centers of Competence, and AI Labs to introduce and deploy innovative methods and tools that enhance compliance and reduce costs.
  • Support critical OEM programs in achieving readiness for certification by promoting collaborative and proactive approaches to trust, safety, and cybersecurity.
  • Advise product teams on advanced compliance strategies for GenAI, over-the-air (OTA) updates, software-defined vehicles (SDVs), and automated driving (AD) technologies.
  • Represent IVG globally in matters of functional safety and cybersecurity, both in supplier relations and internal product strategy discussions.
  • Lead the development of standards, foster partnerships with suppliers, and define certification and approval pathways.

Requirements

  • Over 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in leadership roles within the automotive or technology industries, with expertise in functional safety, cybersecurity, and systems engineering.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the business benefits vs. investment costs of applying the functional safety and cybersecurity strategies to the product.
  • Proven track record in influencing and interacting at the executive level, including strategy, roadmap, and budget planning, as well as successful OEM program launches.
  • Extensive expertise in ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, and various regulatory frameworks in the EU, India, and China.
  • Strong strategic understanding and awareness of risks related to the use of GenAI, digital twins, OTA systems, and other V2X technologies.
  • Has a proven record improving efficiency, accountability and functional effectiveness of the department.
