Thermal Engineer

We are looking for an R&D Thermal Engineer to be part of our R&D Department in San Giovanni Valdarno.

• You lead the thermal design of new projects from concept to final design.
• You are responsible for validating the thermal design of the products through numerical simulations and experiments, based on internal procedures and project KPIs.
• You work with the mechanical and software departments to achieve the needs.
• You collaborate with testing engineers to define the thermal tests layout, testing procedures, and select the types of sensors to be used.
• You work with our suppliers to find the best thermal solutions and create prototypes for production.
• You look for innovative thermal management solutions.

• You have a master's degree in physics, mechanical, energy engineering, or equivalent, with solid knowledge in fluid mechanics and heat transfer phenomena.
• You have at least 3-5 years of experience in a medium-high range company focused on design and testing as a Thermal Engineer or equivalent.
• You have strong experience in numerical modeling, design, and testing of liquid-to-air heat exchangers, cooling of power electronic devices through air cooling, liquid cooling, and multiphase cooling (a plus).
• You have experience analyzing and processing experimental data for correlations development and model validation.
• You are an advanced user of CFD/CFX simulation tools mainly applied to heat transfer problems and heat conduction (ANSYS CFD and SolidWorks Flow Simulation are preferred).
• You are proficient in 3D CAD systems, particularly SolidWorks.
• Experience in fan acoustic noise measurements and numerical simulation through FEM software is a plus.
• You are comfortable in the lab, collaborating with testing engineers for mockup design and thermal test setup for product validation.
• You are a passionate person with flexibility and creativity to proactively accept daily challenges to provide the best solutions. Creative problem-solving is your key success factor. You should be comfortable in a startup mindset within a globally strong company. Agility, as the capacity to change direction quickly, is a recommended soft skill to drive business success. Teamwork in an international context is your main support.
