The Role

As Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Kyndryl, you will design and implement cutting-edge architectures that merge advanced data platforms with AI-driven solutions - including generative and agentic AI - to enable intelligent, scalable, and secure enterprise systems that accelerate innovation and business value.

• Define and implement modern data architectures leveraging cloud-native technologies, data lakes, and real-time streaming platforms.
• Design AI-driven solutions - including generative and agentic AI frameworks - integrated with enterprise workflows.
• Establish best practices for MLOps, AI governance, and model lifecycle management to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale AI and data initiatives, driving adoption across the organization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to keep the company at the forefront of AI and data transformation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven experience designing cloud-native AI and data architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong expertise in AI technologies: generative AI, agentic AI, LLMs, and orchestration frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of MLOps, AI governance, and model deployment at scale.
• Solid understanding of data platforms, including data lakes, real-time streaming, and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to define integration patterns between AI services and enterprise applications.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Hands-on experience with AI orchestration tools and agent frameworks.
• Exposure to vector databases, semantic search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving innovation initiatives.

Employment Terms

The position will be governed by the Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees of the Metalworking Industry (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per i dipendenti dell’Industria Metalmeccanica e della Installazione di Impianti), with classification as Quadro. The employment contract may be offered as a permanent employment contract (contratto a tempo indeterminato). The salary range for the position in Italy is € 54.600,00 to € 98.150,00 based on a full-time schedule at the time of posting. The level assigned and the corresponding remuneration within the salary range indicated above will be determined in accordance with several factors such as, geographical tier, job-related skills, education and experience that selected candidates bring to the team. For part-time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.
