General Ledger Accountant

Your team is based in our offices in Harlow and Milan. They manage our operations across Italy and the broader EMEA region. You can expect a dynamic environment with challenges, especially during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing periods. As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be involved in controlling and reporting on the General Ledger, ensuring compliance, managing tax, statutory, and other general accounting activities, along with financial reconciliation and control tasks as required within the team. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract.

What You Will Be Doing at Arrow

• Control and manage the accuracy of the General Ledger for assigned Arrow companies.

• Complete all relevant month-end financial close procedures, including accruals and prepayments.

• Prepare and be responsible for all internal reporting required within Europe and to the US head office.

• Handle facilities and restructuring accounting and control.

• Carry out relevant Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

• Manage hedging and revaluation activities.

• Support headcount reporting, control, and forecasting.

• Manage statutory accounting and corporation tax work.

• Perform statutory and corporate reconciliations and European consolidations.

• Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat, and Sales List reporting, including VAT return submissions and compliance.

• Support and participate in audit activities.

• Manage the fixed asset register and related accounting, liaising with accounts payable and other departments as needed.

• Prepare variance analyses for all activities.

• Assist other team accountants with various tasks to meet departmental needs.

• Contribute to developing new and efficient processes within the accounting team.

• Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager on projects and ad-hoc tasks.

• Manage other staff where appropriate.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of comprehensive accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes.

• Fluent in English and Italian.

• Experience with accruals, prepayments, VAT, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.

• Results-driven with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
