Our client is a leading specialist data centre main contractor delivering full turnkey solutions across Europe, encompassing civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning works.

With group turnover exceeding 1.5bn and a secured order book for the next three years, they continue to expand across large-scale, mission-critical developments.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join the project team on a major data centre development in Milan, Italy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of the project Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety standards, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Assist with the review and approval of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to workforce and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and compliance registers.
  • Support the development of emergency response plans and participate in drills as required.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project, encouraging proactive reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with project management and client representatives on all HSE-related matters.Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in an HSE role on large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of European HSE legislation and construction safety standards.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS and conducting site audits and inspections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams on site.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
