The Company

PES ENGINEERING was born out of the Engineering Division of PES, founded in 1979, and currently has over 140 resources in its permanent engineering staff, boasting significant experience in the Oil & Gas, Power, Renewable Energy, Chemical, Petrochemical and Automotive sectors.

PES ENGINEERING provides technical and engineering services (Civil, Rotary Machines, Static Equipment, Process, HSE Design, Electro-instrumental, Layout & Piping), offering more than 200,000 hours of engineering per year to all major Oil & Gas Companies, EPC Contractors, Industrial Manufacturers, etc.

Currently, PES ENGINEERING has 8 locations in Italy: HQ in Rosignano Solvay (LI), San Donato Milanese, Livorno, Florence, Rome, Bari, Vibo Marina (VV), Gela. Abroad, the company is present in 3 countries (UK, UAE, Romania). In addition, a series of strategic partnerships, signed on practically all continents, support the Company to perform multidisciplinary engineering, service management, inspection & expediting, recruitment & hiring of local personnel.

Position

A PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER is sought.

The objective of the job is to provide high technical and quality process design safety engineering in the execution of projects in accordance with design and engineering standards and procedures, schedules and budgets, with a constant focus on quality standards, objectives and customer satisfaction, under the guidance of the Process Design Safety Manager on a specific project.

The resource will be responsible for:

  • Risk and Reliability Analysis in the industrial environment (installations/projects in the Oil & Gas/Chemical field, with particular reference to activities related to Seveso, QRA, FERA directive fulfilments; (no hse).
  • Classification of areas at risk of explosion (ATEX).
  • SIL analysis in accordance with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards and HAZOP (PHA) analysis, holding the role of HAZOP/SIL Leader.
  • Knowledge of national and international regulations and standards applicable to Oil & Gas installations.
Requirements
  • Experience in Process Safety and Functional Safety (in particular, experience as HAZOP/SIL preferably in companies in the Oil & Gas and Chemical industry).
  • Degree in Chemical and Process Safety Engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language.
  • Ability to analyse Seveso/Environmental regulations, Hazop.
  • Relational and teamwork skills.
  • At least 3 years of oil & gas plant engineering experience.
  • IEC skills.
  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
  • HAZOP study.
  • Oil and gas.
  • ATEX Directives.
