Overview
the senior director medical strategy provides strategic medical and scientific expertise to iqvia in the rheumatology therapeutic area. The role involves early engagement with potential customers, proposal development, participation in client bid‑defense meetings, and acting as a consultant throughout the research and development lifecycle and clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- work independently of the therapeutic‑area head and demonstrate autonomy in strategic proposal development.
- participate as a leader, medical director and subject‑matter expert in client proposal and bid‑defense meetings.
- act as a consultant throughout the r&d lifecycle and clinical trial phases, delivering independent customer solutions.
- formulate clinical development plans, execute group strategy and lead the strategic direction of the center of excellence.
- collaborate across iqvia to leverage all resources in opportunity pursuit.
- engage in thought‑leadership activities and represent the organization in external forums.
Required Education and Experience
- minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or a cro setting.
- proven senior strategic role in rheumatology, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- terminal degree md with board certification in rheumatology.
- extensive business and industry knowledge to drive results.
Travel Requirements
- occasional travel, nationally or internationally, at least 20% of the time.
Compensation
- base pay range (annualized) $114,800 – $195,200, plus potential incentive plans, bonuses and health & welfare benefits.
