Our vibrant community thrives on diversity and connectivity without borders.Lead ArchitectJob DescriptionThe SUSE Professional Services team is seeking a Lead Architect, fluent in both Italian and English, to work hands-on with our global enterprise customers in Europe. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with Kubernetes (preferably Rancher), strong technical and communication skills, and a good understanding of IT infrastructure, DevOps, open source software in general. Application development experience is a plus. Most importantly, the candidate must be excited about working to transform how organizations develop and run their applications.To succeed in this role you will need to be able to work closely with our customers to help them understand the impact SUSE can deliver for their business through its products and solutions. This role will be part of the EMEA Professional Services team, and will be compensated based on a combination of base salary and bonus. Lead Architects should expect some travel (around 20% of the time, on average) as the role will include both remote delivery to customers and onsite consulting and technical engagements.Focus Areas Working with customers to design and implement SUSE solutions, including those based on Kubernetes and Rancher.Hands-on software configuration which could include building automation scripts and implementing integrations to solve customer problemsMaintaining an expert-level understanding of the SUSE portfolio of productsUnderstanding of an ecosystem of complimentary technologiesExplaining the value and impact of SUSE solutions for customersBuilding and maintaining good working relationships with customersProviding technical leadership, advocating for customer needs and channeling feedback throughout the lifecycle of customer engagementsDemonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skillsWorking effectively in a proactive manner with both customers and colleagues, many of whom will be geographically distributed.Ability to adapt and learn within a dynamic and fast-paced environmentPreferred Experience & Skills10-15 years of hands-on experience working with relevant IT technology as a Consultant or engineerExperience designing and implementing solutions for large enterprise customersAbility to transform functional requirements into solutions that can be implemented and operated in productionAbility to lead the customer into driving solution adoptionExperience presenting on technical concepts to people with differing levels of technical understandingExperience with containers and container orchestration: Kubernetes is a must; Rancher is a good-to-have.Experience with DevOps and CI/CD software: scripting and automationExperience working in an enterprise Linux environmentExperience with open-source software solutionsExperience with virtualization technologies is a plus: kube-virt or HarvesterExperience with storage technologies is a plus: Longhorn or CephExperience with security products is a plus (SIEMs, WAFs, etc)Personal AttributesAbility to set and maintain goals, welcome feedback and enjoy successAutonomous and self-drivenExcellent technical knowledge and aptitude for learningNative or very fluent in ItalianFluent in both written and spoken EnglishJobServicesWhat We Offer We empower you to be bold, driving your career to create the future you want.
