We are a socially responsible company and give our customers the ability to invest a portion of their premiums in environmentally and socially beneficial projects.With our comprehensive product offering and underwriting expertise, we are able to cover a wide range of business risks, helping our clients to identify them and minimise their exposure.If you are looking for to be part of a successful organisation with strong growth ambitions, then read on.Property Senior Underwriter (m/f)Your new roleSupport the development of the annual business plan for the portfolio and ensure delivery of the planEnsure the team’s awareness of the business plan and it’s context, to be able to make decisions appropriatelyApply the Reinsurance Strategy in order to safeguard the portfolioContribute and participate in all meetings, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practicePositively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverageContribute to the development of the team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performancePerform complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are metAdhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiencyEnsure the recording and measurement of insurance risks, including DUA’s where relevant, to ensure accuracy and good practiceApply any reinsurance requirements to minimize risk and to deliver business plan objectivesAct as a technical expert to support the identification of issues and opportunities within area of expertiseEstablish and strengthen strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximize influence and achieve business objectivesDemonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycle to drive and enhance business performanceContinually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate learning and development activitiesUnderwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives, including: | negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business | Compliance of production and issue of contract certainty documentation (non Lloyds) | ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines | ensuring contribution to the business plan and objectives | Support credit control in payment collectionContribute and influence in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress toward business objectivesEnsure entries are properly and promptly recorded on EO systems to ensure accuracy of data, in relation to: | Underwriting | Aggregate exposuresContribute to the aggregate management and peer review processes to encourage and develop excellenceManage resources across the team to ensure business requirements are achievedMotivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors and management best practice so as to support the achievement of business goalsManage performance fairly and in line with performance processesAbout youAt least 5 years in an international insurance network in a Property underwriting roleDeep knowledge of local market in the property segmentStrong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong analytical skills attention to detailStrong interpersonal, negotiating and communication skillsAbility to analyse data and use for decision-makingBusiness fluent in written and spoken EnglishWhy QBE?
