Project Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar PV & BESS Location: Milan (Hybrid, Flexible)
Leap29 is supporting a high-growth renewable energy startup in Milan, backed by a major global energy group from the UK. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
Support the engineering and technical design of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
Coordinate with external engineering partners, EPC contractors, and internal development teams.
Provide technical input for permitting, grid connection applications, and commercial decision-making.
Assist with feasibility studies, due diligence, and project configuration optimisation.
Support Project Managers during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewables, or a related field.
~2–5+ years of experience in Solar PV, BESS, or broader renewable energy engineering.
~ Strong understanding of PV plant design, grid requirements, and project development processes.
~ Experience with design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, or similar).
~ Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a hybrid setup.
~ Excited to contribute to a high-growth startup in its early stages.
