Job Title: Senior Design Manager Location: Milano, Italy Company: Project Management and Engineering Consultancy Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to oversee the Design of complex Hospitality project. The ideal candidate will have 15-20 years of experience in managing design of hospitality new builds or refurbishment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Oversight: - Lead and manage all aspects of design from initiation through to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. - Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. 2. Design and Tender Management: - Oversee the design phase, ensuring that all designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements. - Manage the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and selection of contractors. 3. Budget and Schedule Management: - Develop and manage project design budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and that financial targets are met. - Create and maintain project schedules, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions as necessary. 5. Risk Management: - Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets. - Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the construction process. 6. Reporting and Documentation: - Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions. - Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. 7. Team Leadership: - Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. - Provide guidance and support to junior staff and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project standards and best practices. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. - 15-20 years of experience in project design management, with a focus on complex building projects (residential, office, hotel, retail, logistics, and industrial). - Proven experience managing design for both brownfield and greenfield projects. - Strong knowledge of design processes, contract management, and project management methodologies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proficiency in English (minimum B2 level). - Strong leadership and team management abilities. - Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
