As a Pastry Commis Chef at Zuma, you’ll work alongside talented chefs to create desserts that delight our guests, while developing your skills in a dynamic and inspiring kitchen. Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant collection, inspired by the dynamic Izakaya dining style. Located in the iconic Palazzo Fendi, with a stunning restaurant and beautiful roof terrace overlooking the “eternal city”, this restaurant is an essential experience in Rome. Prepare a variety of desserts and pastry items in accordance with recipes and guidance from senior chefs, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
Maintain adequate mise en place levels for seamless service, focusing on minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency
Monitor the quality, consistency, appearance, and taste of all food products, delivering excellence in every dish
Take an active interest in learning other kitchen sections to support team collaboration and adaptability
A genuine love for culinary experiences & a passion for Japanese cuisine
Proven experience as a pastry commis chef in a luxury high-volume restaurant
A natural team player who is at home working in sync with a large team
Naturally friendly, customer-oriented, and skilled at creating memorable dining experiences
