In order to strengthen our engineering team we are looking to hire a Seats Development Engineer based in Maranello (Italy).
The ideal candidate is passionate about the development of internal trim components and possesses excellent project management capabilities.
In this position, you will be responsible for: Seat Development and Integration: Responsible for the development, optimization, and integration of the seat, managing technical development activities independently, and interfacing with other company functions and suppliers.
Requirement Collection and Solution Provision: Collect requirements from other RD departments and provide solutions within the project's constraints in terms of cost and schedule.
End-to-End Development: Follow the development of the seat from feasibility studies and technical evaluations to the start of production.
Component Optimization: Optimize components in terms of performance and/or cost.
Design and Calculation: Utilize extensive experience in the design and calculation of components, focusing on structures, comfort, perceived quality, and materials.
Team Coordination: Coordinate a team of resources, including designers, project managers, and technical specialists, to ensure project success.
Project Management: Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
You should ideally have gained at least 8 years' dedicated experience in the design and development of seat components.
Previous experience in trimming phase, including wrinkle avoidance and ensuring the quality of the final product will be an asset.
Good knowledge of CAD systems, primarily CATIA and experience in FEM simulation of Seats, covering both structural and comfort aspect, are mandatory to manage the activities of the role.
In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment; strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role.
Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage.
