Each research area is assigned to a specific research Centre, of which there are eleven totals. The FBK-SD has extremely advanced technical knowhow in innovative devices design and fabrication technologies as well as in the system integration. The strategic mission of the FBK-SD is scientific excellence combined with the ability to exploit research results. The innovation model is open to collaboration in national and international expertise networks.Workplace DescriptionThe candidate will be working in the Program Management Strategy & Support Group (PMG) unit of FBK-SD. The PMG lends high value support to the whole Centre Sensors & Devices and related research lines activities and results. Its role is to support and implement the Centre's strategy, to support the unit's activities in project writing and management, to implement units' collaboration by common projects and activities, including purchasing, to help in dissemination of results.The candidate will be working closely with the Micro and Nano Facility (MNF) and Materials, Topologies for Sensors & Devices (MTSD) units of FBK-SD. MNF groups most of the micro- nanofabrication laboratories and competencies of FBK-SD. In MNF, the microfabrication area runs two cleanrooms: one is mainly dedicated to developing radiation sensors, and in the second one, microdevices and sensors are designed for different applications. The microfabrication area also includes a testing infrastructure, a packaging cleanroom, and an integration laboratory. MTSD comprises the material characterisation area, runs several laboratories for the physical and chemical analysis of materials, surfaces, and interfaces with resolution and sensitivity at the micro- and nanoscale. The focus is on the development and application of analytical techniques and related methodologies in the field of secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), electron microscopy (SEM) and spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray analysis, scanning probe microscopy (SPM), Raman and photoluminescence; multivariate analysis in spectroscopy and spectrometry. More information about MNF is available atBackground information and description of research projectsThis position is offered within the IPCEI ME/CT project.In the IPCEI ME/CT project, FBK intends to significantly expand and improve its manufacturing and integration facilities to achieve high-level and reliable heterogeneous production capabilities to maximise research and competitiveness in the market. In IPCEI ME 1, FBK is developing the 3D integration platform applied to SiPM and SPAD TECHNOLOGIES. Exploiting the results of IPCEI ME 1, the project will mainly work on the integration of new materials (Silicon Carbide & Germanium-on-Silicon) and heterointegration to extend the capabilities of already established silicon platforms.Job DescriptionThis position will help support the SD centre to carry out upcoming project commitments. The SD Centre has initiated three major projects - IPCEI ME/CT, ERDF, and WBG Pilot line Chips JU - which include investments in research infrastructure, in particular the expansion of the MNF Facility laboratories and the acquisition of cleanroom equipment for characterisation and integration laboratories.The work activity of the required figure will be dedicated to coordinating the equipment acquisition plan, including in this: the market survey phases, the finalisation of technical specifications and the monitoring of acceptance procedures and performance management due under tender guarantees.Job requirementsThe ideal candidate should have: Master's degree, preferably in the field of physics, chemistry and electrical engineering; At least three years' experience in managing research laboratories; Experience in managing tender procedures for the acquisition of specialised instrumentation for microelectronics laboratories; Experience in acceptance of equipment and setting up of research laboratories; Knowledge of the German language, both written and spoken; Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken Italian; Language assessment according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): level of knowledge required. Knowledge of English will be verified during the interview on a technical or scientific topic and must be equal to or exceed level B2.
