With over 30 years of experience, our client is a trusted partner of European governments and international organizations, specializing in IT and space services, providing operational and engineering support for Earth observation missions, data processing, and applied research.In this role, you will work with advanced virtualization and cloud technologies, contributing to mission and data processing activities while advancing your career in the space industry within a dynamic, international team.YOUR TASKSPerform installation, administration and management of operating systems and/or properly configure software on servers (e.g.
install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems).Administration and operation of cloud environment (OpenStack, VMWare, Kubernetes).Administration and operation of DevOps environment.Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment.Monitor of operated/administered environment.Monitor systems and applications performances to track operating efficiency.Test and implement technical solutions and provide strong operational support on virtualization architectures.Work with team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis and implement systems to meet Customer's IT goals.Report status and flags issues, especially in a proactive manner.Participate in the On-Call service.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETo be successful in this role, you will need:Secondary school diploma.Minimum 2 years of proven experience in the field of Cloud and DevOps.Knowledge of Kubernetes.Knowledge of Linux automation (e.g.
scripting, ansible, python).Knowledge of GitLab, Rancher, Prometheus, Harbor, Helm and Velero.Knowledge of Traefik and MetalLB.Knowledge of Grafana.Expert on Linux (RedHat based distributions, e.g.
Centos, Red Hat) installation/administration and tuning.Experience in data centers, complex IT environments, and setting up virtual environments on both physical and cloud platforms is a plus.Are an asset:Knowledge of VMWare virtual environment.Knowledge of VMware automation (e.g.
scripting reporting and deployments).Knowledge of Openstack infrastructure.Knowledge of network management, firewall and security.Knowledge of databases (Oracle/Mysql/Postgres).Relevant certifications in the relevant technologies are a strong asset.Good understanding of ITIL practices and processes.Personal Skills:Good written and oral command of English (B1).Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones.Capacity of working under pressure.EXTRA INFORMATIONWork location: Rome.Work mode: Hybrid, 2 days on-site per week and the rest from home.Great career opportunity.Corporate Benefits Package in the Space industry.Company events.Please note that, due to the sensitive nature of the data involved, this position is currently available only to individuals who meet the following criteria:EU Citizens.Non-EU Citizens already based in EU with a valid work permit.Once we receive your CV, we will take time to evaluate it carefully.
