We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Product Management to lead our product strategy and development at Nielsen Sports. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our data products and customer-facing experience platforms, ensuring alignment with customer needs, and delivering measurable business outcomes. Your experience in solving customer problems and analytics will help you to drive product iterations that are rooted in quantifiable insights.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, analytics, and a proven track record of working in an outcome-based, data-driven environment. The Director of Product Management will bring experience and knowledge of modern methods of product discovery and methodologies. You are responsible for client satisfaction and aim to efficiently and effectively bring a product from the planning and discovery phase to the end-users, customers, or stakeholders as part of the outcome-based roadmap. This is a crucial role in aligning cross-functional teams, managing resources and milestone timing, while addressing challenges throughout product discovery and feasibility lifecycle. Through iterative collaboration, your team will ensure that what is delivered addresses the customer problem and follow up with clients to understand how the solution is performing and what new opportunities are surfacing.
Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy and Vision:Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and market needs.Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive product innovation and differentiation.Key Responsibilities: Outcomes-Based Product Development:Implement an outcome-based approach to product management, focusing on delivering measurable business results and customer value.Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for each product, ensuring alignment with customer and business goals.Key Responsibilities: Cross-Functional Leadership:Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product development and delivery.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product management team and across the organization.Key Responsibilities: Customer-Centric Approach:Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to gather feedback, validate product concepts, and ensure alignment with market needs.Prioritize customer satisfaction and outcomes, driving a customer-centric mindset throughout the product life cycle.Key Responsibilities: Roadmap Planning and Execution:Identify opportunities and conduct feasibility studies and POCs prior to creating the roadmap to ensure value delivery.Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines key milestones, deliverables, and timelines.Ensure timely and high-quality execution of product initiatives, balancing short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals.Key Responsibilities: Data-Driven Decision Making:Leverage data and analytics to inform product decisions, validate hypotheses, and optimize product performance.Utilize insights from data to iterate and improve products, ensuring continuous alignment with customer needs and business objectives.Key Responsibilities: Team Development and Mentorship:Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team members, supporting their growth and career progression.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of successfully delivering products in an outcomes-based environment.A proactive people leader that drives results through transformation with a passion for problem-solving.A leader who can traverse both strategic and tactical priorities, working in a matrix organization, influencing teams, projects, and groups from other divisions to deliver exceptional results.Experience in social marketing creators and relevant platforms (X, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram & YouTube).Experience working with brands in the technology and/or apps verticals.Understanding of sports and brand impact within the media and social landscape.A keen understanding of what is relevant and an eye for upcoming trends.Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.Deep understanding of the analytics industry and market trends.Experience working in iterative cycles with continuous improvement leveraging agile tools.Sports and/or Media experience desired.Software Development Experience desired but not required.What we offer:Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.A collaborative and innovative work environment.The chance to make a meaningful impact on the success of our customers and the growth of our company.Diversity:Here at Nielsen, we believe strongly in the value of diversity and creating supportive, inclusive environments where our colleagues can succeed.
