Are you looking for a challenging and dynamic environment where to build your professional career?
We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our headquarters at Sant'Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the Head of Whole Vehicle Development. You will be responsible to define the performance derivates with a deep platform knowledge, with target to explain strength & weak points to be improved for the racing use. Your final focus is to support R&D areas in order to bring back the most important racing features on series sport models (e.g. arm bushing, damper technology, aero/cooling features and balance, intake/exhaust, lightweight parts…) and to maximize their performance. You have to address competences / knowledge from engineering areas to motorsport and vice versa, bridging and supporting technical decision.
Your main activities will be: Concept phase
Responsible to steer performance requirements definition, in alignment with Chief Concept Engineer;Responsible to manage and verify with R&D areas to introduce components derived from motorsport applications to improve performance in series production vehicles;Responsible to manage the exchange of information and ensure the correct information flow from R&D to Motorsport to improve series vehicle platform knowledge to be implemented in race cars projects;Accountable to achieve the performance KPI of the series projects.Responsible to steer and verify concept improvement with performance target oriented approach (e.g. weight saving process);Responsible to manage and verify studies and development of motorsport components / functional systems to improve performance of series vehicle with R&D areas;Responsible to manage the information from R&D to Motorsport to ensure, through synergies, the correct development process and approach;Responsible to facilitate the improvement of connections and development of all engineering areas with Motorsport.Developing phase:
Responsible to monitor and coordinate activities in reaching the performance attributes of series vehicles. Escalating to Project Leader Whole Vehicle Development & IVV in case of issue and/or target not achievable, in particular with impact of timing and cost.Responsible to coordinate and verify components / systems deployment, reaching performance targets with R&D areas and Motorsport;Responsible to define technical countermeasures proposal, in agreement with development areas, in case of KPI maturity not reached with reporting and escalation to Project Leader Whole Vehicle Development / Requirement & Architecture, IVV (lev. 01) and KEFA/R&A, IVV (lev. 02).Testing activities on car, in compliance with Company Policy:
Responsible to evaluate (through driving or test drivers report) vehicles performances KPI before and during technical drives when necessary.About you University Degree in Engineering (Automotive, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or similar)Long term experience (more than 10 years) in car testing, fleet management and technical analysis/diagnosisWhole vehicle engineering and development experience for series carsMotorsport experience as designer and/or car engineer, testing support and planning (as a plus)Team coordination with functional reportingExperience in defining KPI vehicle performance orientedKnowledge of Vehicle developing skills & toolsMatlab/Simulink (as a plus)Fluent English, Italian and German will be considered a plusProblem solving & Analytical skillsAbility to synthesizeProactivity and flexibilityTarget-orientationSelf-motivationTeam working attitudeAbility to deliver under pressureAvailability to travel abroad EuropeGood communication and relationship skillsOrganizational and planning skillsWhat we offer Holistic Well-Being programParenthood programSpecific job posting for internal employeesAccess to qualified Learning pathsApply nowFill in the form below and send your application.
