The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks.
Together we will provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle - from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
Together with clients, you'll be helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will support our team of engineers with designing, analysing, and assessing medium and high-voltage substations for power generation projects, specifically renewable energy projects.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in substation engineering and electrical engineering principles.
In this role, you will support the assessment of safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs for the implementation of substations.
This is a permanent role and will offer excellent prospects for career development involving different power generation technologies, mainly renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities Primary plant design and layouts for HV substations; Equipment specifications for HV Plant and ancillary equipment; Providing engineering design input to major electrical power projects from feasibility/front-end engineering stages to detailed design/site construction monitoring and commissioning; Project management and coordination with clients and our design teams, including civil, structural, environmental, survey/geotechnical, transport, protection and control, and CAD/BIM team; Delivering projects in new technologies e.g.
energy storage, HVDC systems, smart grid solutions, waste to energy etc; Provide professional services to clients both Nationally and Internationally.

To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months relevant work experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines: Electrical Engineering.
In your application, you should be able to demonstrate your interest through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.
We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics: Methodical approach to problem solving; Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently; Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members; Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
