**The Lab Technician contributes to the overall, efficient running of the Application Lab and Pilot plant Lab, in accordance with the Company objectives and policies, under the direction of Supervisor.
**:**Has the responsibility to assure that assigned projects are effectively carried out and reported.
**:**Takes specific initiative on self-training programs related to his job responsibilities.
**:**Is focused on gaining improved knowledge by identifying and proposing improvement opportunities for his/her experience and specific knowledge, moreover is held to attend the formative activities proposed.
**:**Carries out his/her work in compliance with Company core value.
**:**The work covers all aspects of coatings technology.
**:**For the society organization it's required the recognition and acceptance of a multi-cultural environment.
**:**The major responsibilities and activities of the Lab Technician are:**:**Application Laboratory**:
- **Based on procedures and standard formulations prepares powder coatings.
**:
- **Writes necessary reports explaining the work done on specific projects in order to correctly inform all involved functions.
**:
- **Carries out laboratory work on R&D projects in accordance with the supervisor and complete work with his/her conclusions.
**:
- **Carries out rheological measures and related studies by developing and validating appropriated test definitions.
**:
- **Takes care of all lab equipment and writes working procedures when necessary.
**:
**Synthesis Laboratory**:
- **Carries out, under the supervision of R&D Lab Technologist in accordance with defined methods the synthesis of various kinds of products on which R&D Lab works.
**:
- **To know the raw materials, the synthesis processes and analytical methods used in the day-by-day work, both as execution, precision and pertinent chemistry.
**:
- **To clean-up the Pilot plants, flasks and related glassware, to prepare raw materials charges, to supply R&D raw materials, to filter or grind resins, to clean lab glassware, to dispose lab waste, to support the Supervisor in preparing samples for customer.
**:
- **To perform in-process tests, evaluating the results in terms of compliance with the specifications or expected results, possible interferences and precision and repeatability criteria.
**:
- **Checks the Pilot plants working parameters and adjusts set-points to optimize the reaction timing within the defined product parameters.
**:
- **Controls the product's conditions during the synthesis and the conformity to the standard.
Defines the timing of taking in-process samples based on his/her experience and according to general synthesis guidelines.
Fills-in, in accordance with the received instructions, the batch log with the values and the technical notes obtained during in-process tests.
**:
- **Identifies results out of spec or out of the expected trend occurred during the synthesis in order to make proper corrections based on his technical knowledge and experience.
**:
- **Has the technical knowledge and experience to use viscometers, DSC, colorimeter, scales, refractometer and the other devices used to carry out R&D synthesis.
**:
- **Keeps informed on the use of the finished products.
**:
- **To notify the supervisor about problems concerning safety, timing, work organization and whatever issues regarding the effectiveness of the R&D lab.
**:
- **To identify and notify to the supervisor the needs of maintenance on lab devices and instruments and connected services.
**:
- **To store and care R&D samples warehouse, R&D lab glassware and Raw Materials supply, notifying to the supervisor and Process Support Technologist when supplying is needed.
**:
**Sampling**:
- **Is directly involved in sampling process, knows and acts as player of PO04.02 operative procedure_phase 3 lab activity.
