The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is a global management consulting firm and the world's leading advisor on business strategy.
Our Financial Institutions Technology Advantage team creates business value strategically by helping Financial Institution (FI) clients to navigate the technology/digital world and to accelerate their transformations to be technology/digital businesses.
As Financial Institutions are largely IT and digitally driven, the Technology Advantage Practice is actively involved in many of these projects, e.g., Digital and Data-driven transformations of FI operating models, IT strategy development and implementation, Core Banking System replacement, Agile transformations, Post-Merger Integrations, etc.
Our team members have a solid business foundation, robust technical background and prior hands-on experience in FI IT, enabling them to ensure successful client value generation in such assignments.

We are looking forConsultants and Project Leaders with consulting and/or industry backgroundto join ourFinancial Institutions Technology Advantage team.
You would typically have:
o4+ years of corporate functional experience and/or consulting experience in delivering value for clients in any of the following areas:
oHelped to successfully design and implement IT/Technology and/or digital strategies
oSolid understanding in upcoming IT/Technology and digital trends, e.g.
Big Data and Data & Analytics, Digital Process Automation, Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Digital Payment, Blockchain technology, Microservices, DevOps etc.
oExperiences in digitization of core business processes and/or creating digital business models
oExposure to agile methodology and agile deliverables (storyboards, wireframes etc.)
with an understanding of agile engineering practices
- Ideally some work experience in IT-related departments of Financial Institutions, or companies/Fintechs, or consulting experience at digital boutiques or incubators/digital spin-offs
- Experience addressing business challenges leveraging Technology/IT solutions for Financial Institutions, e.g., IT strategy development and implementation, IT architecture incl.
Core banking system replacement, Big Data projects, Post Merger Integrations.
Main responsibility:
Client Delivery
- Working in small but high impact consulting teams and owning content and day-to-day client interactions
- Re-scope clients strategies to include IT/digital focus in business strategy
- Providing expertise and support in driving Technology & Digital transformation projects (e.g.
Data-driven transformation, Agile transformation, Digital Process Automation etc.
)
- Define the IT/digital organization (e.g., data governance model, tool landscape, career tracks etc.
)
- Active role in presenting key findings to C-level executives
Further responsibilities:
Topic and Practice Development
- Contribution to the development of methodologies, toolkits, benchmarks, and enablement material for the IT/Technology/Digital transformation topics
- Contribution to the development of IT/Technology/Digital Transformation intellectual capital for publication and/or internal BCG use e.g.
emerging technology trends
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
Education and Qualifications:
Preferred advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Business Administration, Economics and Finance or Mathematics
Strong academics from top-tier institutions
Professional Skills:
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a time-limited, problem-solving environment combined with excellent communication skills as well as a good business sense
Willing to travel and to work on client sites
Excellent written and spoken English, other languages would be of added benefit
Personal Attributes:
Driven and hard-working team player with an independent and autonomous judgment
Intercultural competence and experience of working in more than one country or multi-cultural teams
You'll work withOur consultants within DigitalBCG are an integral part of BCG's core consulting team; we work side-by-side with all practice areas to create value & competitive advantage for our clients.
Your team will include senior BCG leadership, teams of BCG Consultants, and both junior and senior client leaders working collaboratively to drive the transformation, and shared services/control functions.
In this role, you'll collaborate with BCG team members from many backgrounds and disciplines in a team-oriented, relationship-driven environment.
Working alongside some of the world's top minds on cases that reshape business, government and society, you will increase your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives, and develop new skills.
At the same time, you'll partner with senior clients, taking on the role of trusted advisor, and work at all levels of the client organization to find and execute value creation strategies that result in meaningful, enduring impact.
