DescriptionThe Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's environmental, health, and safety programs.
The EH&S Specialist ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
The EH&S Specialist also provides training, guidance, and support to employees and managers on EH&S matters.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsKeep up to date with new and revised regulationsInterpret these regulations as they apply to the site operationsDevelop policies, procedures and work instructions as requiredConduct training on the proper use of policies and proceduresEnsure regular assessment of the performance and use of policies and proceduresCoordinate or perform a variety of EHS activities to maintain compliance with various regional and state regulatory authorities (INAIL, ASL)Maintain relations with the competent authorities and certification bodiesInvestigate and respond to incidents, accidents, and complaints involving EH&S issuesImplement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and ensure complianceConduct safety observations on a regular basis.Advise and coach leadership/employees on various EHS topicsConduct EHS training for new employees and current employeesDocument and maintain training recordsUnderstand, implement, report, and monitor on EHS measures and metricsEstablish and maintain regulatory compliance metricsAbility to research and write effective EHS procedures and policiesMaintain constructive relationship with internal and external customersImplement all the EHS Franklin global requests: Hazard ID declaration, Gemba Walk, etc.Participate in EHS Franklin meeting and presenting the safety records of the plantsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have any supervisory responsibilitiesThis position reports to the site Managing Director, dotted line to Plant ManagerSkills Knowledge and ExpertiseEducation, Experience & AbilitiesBachelor's degree in safety and or environmental engineering or a related field (required)Minimum of 5 years of experience in EH&S management or specialist role, mechanical industryCandidates trained to the position of RSPP as stipulated in the 2016 State-Regions AgreementCertification in ISO (14001), or other relevant EH&S standardsKnowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations and requirementsAbility to develop, implement, and evaluate EH&S programs and policiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood Knowledge of written and spoken EnglishBenefit : canteenSmart working: noWork location: 40% Dueville – 40% Marostica – 10% Motta di Livenza – 10% Ponte nelle AlpiWhy work at Franklin Electric?Becoming a part of the Franklin Electric team not only provides outstanding benefits, it also opens doors to opportunities for future growth.
