We are currently looking for an Automotive Trends Analyst, with a strong background in the automotive/transport industry. This is a strategic technology-focused role for an aspiring expert analyst who want to continue their career in a dynamic environment which requires you to work with strong leaders from R&D communities, trend and economic strategy to senior civil servants.
The main objective will be to conduct industrial research and targeted market analysis to help shape understanding as to how the UK could improve its positioning. The role will also work closely with economists and other departments competition and projects and business development teams, improving and linking our demand modelling with an economic model and producing reports and analysis to support strategic decision making. You will have the opportunity to provide technology insights and feedback to the development of future insights, thought leadership pieces, projects and roadmaps for the UK automotive sector.

Principal Accountabilities:
* Leading on industrial research and targeted market analysis to inform strategic position of the UK as a global market player in the automotive, transport and manufacturing sectors.
* Manage an evidence-based market model, including implementing improved insights and conducting scenario analysis to support effective decision-making
* Work closely with project delivery teams / business development and external stakeholders to support and ensure a high quality evidence base analysis of trends and drivers relevant to automotive sector, to deliver impactful programmes of work across the company technology portfolio
* Develop in-house demand, supply and economic models to provide evidence based analysis, adjacent organisations, wider stakeholders (e.g. Automotive Council) and interfacing government departments, e.g. Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Department for Transport (DfT), Department for Science, Innovation and technology (DSIT) and HMT.
* Lead and support technology roadmapping activities, and build and maintain necessary engagements across industry, academia and other relevant stakeholders
* Lead and support production of a range reports and publications to support strategic decision making across various programmes.
* Conduct a range of analysis, such as trends analysis of the auto industry to support the development of policy recommendations.
* Develop and analyse stakeholder maps to inform business strategy.
* Supporting activities including tradeshows, workshops, showcase visits, training and other networking events
* Coordinating cross functional data management activities and support data system enhancements / introductions.
* Such other duties as are commensurate with the role.
* Reports to: Head of Technology Trends
* Line management (No direct reports)

This role will be based within the Technology Trends Team, however your work will have a significant impact on the whole organisation and will represent the value created to the UK Automotive Industry. You will work and collaborate with all other departments, including competition and projects, business development and SME programmes, to provide technology and innovation insights and foresight to help inform and shape the development of future programmes of work, insights and strategic roadmaps for the UK automotive sector.
You will have the opportunity to support project / programme assessment and strategic decision making in resource and funding allocations within the technology trends team and in conjunction with other departments who rely on technology-related thought leadership and insights.
