If you have any questions about this vacancy or the application process, please email us at: ****** Hauptaufgaben Incumbent serves as the AFSB Africa, Motor Pool dispatcher in the S4, responsible for making commitments in the assignment of vehicles and/or equipment to meet mission requirements.
Utilizes a good working knowledge of the organizations served, the type of work performed, and the kinds of vehicles or equipment used in accomplishing work assignments.
Performance of duties requires a knowledge of the characteristics and capacity of the vehicles and equipment that are dispatched, knowledge of the mission of the organization to approve the appropriate type of vehicle, knowledge of regulations concerning the use of vehicles, etc.
Vehicles and equipment dispatched include vans, trucks, tractors and trailers, fuel tankers, cranes, mowers, forklifts, container handlers, air compressors, generators/flood lights, etc.
Assigns appropriate type and size of vehicle or equipment on the basis of the work requirement data and ensures that the item is in operating condition.
Makes sure that the operator possesses the required license.
Assures established maintenance schedules are followed.
Assures maximum utilization and safety by promoting the cooperation of supervisors, operators, and using organizations to report evidence of negligence, abuse, or mishandling of army owned TDA and CTA equipment.
Interfaces with General Services Administration LRC Transportation Motor Pool, to ensure vehicle maintenance is performed promptly and with a minimum down-time; provides Preventative Maintenance and Checks (PMCS) classes to new drivers; assists in processing vehicle accident reports in conjunction with LRC TMP to ensure all required items of information are provided in accordance with army regulations and that all reports and logs are prepared and maintained to include accident reports and Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss reports.
Makes decisions concerning substitutions when requested vehicles or equipment are not available, considering anticipated additional demands on equipment pool and requiring a knowledge of the intended purpose of the requested item as well as the characteristics and capacities of the vehicles and/or equipment available for dispatch operator's name, time in and out, mileage/hours, destination, etc.
Coordinates with the contractor representative for maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles/equipment.
Ensures vehicles are transported to the maintenance shop.
Maintains maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment.
Receives breakdown calls, flat tires and maintenance discrepancy reports and takes necessary actions to resolve problems.
Performs quality control inspections to ensure vehicle maintenance has been performed properly.
Extracts data from records and provides input for a variety of reports concerning vehicle and equipment utilization, fuel consumption, dates of maintenance, daily dispatches, etc.
Checks dispatches for accuracy and adequacy of recorded data, makes necessary changes.
Make sure a sufficient quantity of fuel is always available for all AFSB- A missions; submits routine/special fuel requests based on mission requirements.
Performs independent government cost estimates and studies for development and procurement of purchase requests.
Writes and reviews performance work statement and serves as COR for rental of equipment and maintenance contracts.
Coordinates and/or performs training on vehicles when required by in-place rental contract.
Advises budget personnel on requirements and requisitions, supplies, and equipment to include replacing equipment through life-cycle management.
Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 0700 TO 1600, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break Qualifikationsanforderungen MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: ?Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the "General Schedule Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management, as summarized below.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the U-06 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Education may be substituted for experience in accordance with the "General Schedule Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management.
