Job Description
Prep Cook / Commis

What you will be doing: Perform basic kitchen duties such as peeling and cutting fruit or vegetables, and deliver food items to various areas in the hotelAssist with plating food in presentable, consistent mannerAdhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistencyKeep work station clean and organized including fridges/freezers, counter and stove topsEnsure that cook station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standardsKeep over production and food waste to a minimum, while ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and food storageOperate kitchen equipment while adhering to safety procedures, and report any deficienciesEnsure all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely and in accordance with hotel food safety guidelinesEnsure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in healthand safety initiativesAdhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiativesCarry out any other tasks as assigned Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Creative and passionate about food and customer serviceAble to work in a high-pressure environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team playerCulinary art diploma is an assetPrevious experience as a commis/cook an assetPhysical Abilities: Exert physical effort in lifting and carrying up to 50lbsEndure various physical movements throughout the work areasReach 1 to 2 feetRemain in stationary position for up to 4 hours throughout the shiftFrequent walking, standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, bendingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
