Senior Technician (Configuration Management) Working Location: Sigonella, Italy

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Essential Qualifications/Experience: Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience. 2 years of practical experience in configuration management/support. Sound understanding and experience working with IT Service Management related tools and technologies (like BMC Remedy ITSM Suite). Experience with ITIL change and configuration management best practices. ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification. Desirable Qualifications/Experience: Understanding of infrastructure solutions hosting Service Management tools and technology, including understanding of market leading database solutions (including but not limited to MS SQL and Oracle). Experience of working in a customer funded organization. Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements. Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT. DUTIES/ROLE: Manage and maintain the configuration of hardware and software systems. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of various systems, ensuring they meet the organization's requirements. Lead a team of technicians and collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's technology infrastructure. Lifecycle planning, control, and management of the assets of an organization. Documentation, software and service assets, and information relating to those assets and their relationships. Identification, classification, and specification of all configuration items (CIs) and the interfaces to other processes and data, as well as required information related to storage, access, service relationships, versions, problem reporting, and change control of CIs. Application of status accounting and auditing, often in line with acknowledged external criteria (such as ISO 9000, ISO/IEC 20000, ISO/IEC 27000 for example) and security throughout all stages of the CI lifecycle, including the early stages of system development.
