As part of a multi-year project that involves the implementation and management of the HPC farm and the Server of the European Meteorological Center (ECMWF), E4 is looking for a Datacenter Technician to provide assistance on advanced computing systems, alongside a software specialist for the administrative management of the data center.Duties and responsibilities:Cooperation with the customer for system monitoring.Point of contact for problems.Receiving support requests (from users or monitoring systems), tracing them to the system, giving priority, taking action for diagnosis and resolution.Support the implementation of the physical data center infrastructure on site.Escalation to central support teams or third parties.Assistance to the users involved, informing them on the progress of the solution.Repair of systems with spare parts available or to be requested from service.Drafting/updating reports and technical documentation.Involvement in other European projects.Install, replace, and troubleshoot cables and hardware.Work within a ticket-based environment.Moving equipment using pallet jacks or other assisted lifting equipment.Assist with shipping/receiving and inventory management to address high volumes of work.Skills and requirements:Basic knowledge of the English language.Some of the following skills or experience listed in order of decreasing importance:Hardware and software operating fundamentals.Basic Linux knowledge preferred.Hardware and/or Server (experience in High-Performance Computing will also be positively evaluated).Support services.Winning features:Willingness to get involved, specialize, increase skills and abilities, aptitude for constant improvement.Ability to plan medium/long term activities to consistently achieve one's objectives.Result-oriented approach, ability to work in an organized team and towards objectives, practicality.Relational skills, team working, flexibility.Effective communication, critical thinking, active listening.Driving change by bringing clarity, generating energy and delivering success.Enhance a culture of safety and security in global data center operations by adhering to security programs and policies.Develop positive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.What we offer?Inclusion in an international context, in important projects and in a valuable, innovative, historic company of significant size and growing.Location: The role will report to the Principal Support Analyst.
