Head of Finance: VELP Scientifica is a European-based SME developing and manufacturing analytical instruments and solutions that made an impact on the global market with products famous for style, innovation, and high-quality materials.
With a suite of product lines primarily for food, feed, and environmental testing, we operate in attractive end-user markets.
The company has shown solid growth on a global scale and has continuously grown market share.
The products are sold globally with a network of more than 100 distribution partners.
VELP has an international structure thanks to two branches located in the USA (New York) and China (Shanghai).
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Head of Finance is a new role in our organization.
The demand for this role was driven by the development over the last few years from a local Italian company into a global organization.
While there are no immediate plans to set up additional branches, the Velp company has a strong balance sheet and is open to drive growth through further bold steps.
The selected candidate will be part of the executive team, reporting to the CEO.
The main responsibilities will be advising and guiding on the best path of growth for the business and controlling all financial aspects of the company.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: - At least 10 years of experience as Head of Finance in a manufacturing SME with all disciplines (Sales, R&D, Production) - Background of solid admin and financial processes - The Head of Finance shall be a business partner for the CEO and for the management team, giving advice and guidance on the long strategic vision of the company - Experiences with international units - Capability to simplify complex financial topics and data, educating the audience - Familiarity with ICT systems; SAP is a plus - Great leader with high communication skills - Experience in interacting with C-level members and with different types of stakeholders.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The scope and responsibilities of the Head of Finance include: - Presenting and reporting accurate financial information of the company to the board and all stakeholders, including working on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, organizational revenue/expense reporting.
- Project leader for the annual budget process.
- Oversee administrative functions across the HQ and the two branches.
- Develop and ongoing monitoring of the internal control systems designed to report accurate financial results.
- Interpretation of controlling data, giving advice and guidance on strategic matters.
- Responsible for the company's overall financial health, retaining constant awareness of the company's financial position.
- Participate in developing new business plans (ROI calculation), working with other key senior persons of the organization to ensure financial and operational success through cost-benefit analysis.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's fiscal position, coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Training and increasing awareness and knowledge related to financial management and cost management matters across the organization.
- Identify, assess, and respond to ongoing and emerging risks in compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Leading and supervising the accounts and controlling team.
