Wildcat Publishing works in partnership with The Energy Year, a recognised producer of business intelligence publications and high-end networking events and services for the global energy industry ( We are recruiting dynamic, passionate, self-motivated and adventurous candidates to gather first-hand information on energy markets and players and promote The Energy Year 's flagship products on all continents and are offering attractive entry-level compensation packages, with fast career growth opportunities.
The international journalist and market analyst position consists of overseas posting throughout the year in the many markets The Energy Year is established in.
The journalists are tasked with meeting and interviewing C-class business executives, attending leading energy events and gathering in-depth information on national energy trends, companies and business environments.
The successful candidate has: • Year-round availability to travel and relocate to emerging markets on all continents • A BA/BSc or MA/MSc degree backed by sound knowledge of international relations, economics, journalism, marketing or communications.
Other majors will be considered too.
• Excellent communication skills and proven adaptability to a global environment with a curious mind • Ambition, drive and communicative energy with a highly independent and vivacious personality • Team-playing abilities and strong social skills • The ability to work under deadlines and to keep a cool head under pressure • One to three years of relevant work experience, although new graduates will be considered • Proficiency in both written and spoken English with a second language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese or French) being an advantage • Excellent personal and professional presentation • No travel restrictions The job responsibilities include: • Scheduling and conducting interviews with senior energy executives globally • Operating a database of key companies and executives • Analysing industry data and profiling market players • Gathering first-hand market intelligence and editing interview transcripts • Generating content ideas and creating written materials for The Energy Year's publications • Attending exhibitions, conferences and other PR and networking activities • Working abroad throughout the year What we offer: • An exciting and unique career within the global energy industry through strategic communication, publishing, events and advertising • An attractive compensation package, including basic + commissions, global health insurance, all accommodation, communication and travel expenses covered • Training and fast-track promotion to a mid-level team member and subsequently to project director • The unique opportunity to meet world leaders, senior government officials, C-class decision-makers and global energy industry movers and shakers Excited by the prospect of starting your global career and joining our international communications and sales force?
