Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey at the forefront of technology, where innovation meets legacy systems? We are looking for a proficient and driven Batch Scheduler Operations Specialist to become a vital member of our enthusiastic team.
Your job in a nutshell: As a Senior Batch Scheduler Operations Specialist, you will have the responsibility to maintain the Workload Scheduler application lifecycle, by installing, configuring, and updating existing and new Workload Scheduler applications, as to reviewing and proposing improvements to the current infrastructure architecture and how it integrates with the Operating System and other technologies, on a hybrid environment.
You'll be also responsible for supporting business users, translating functional requirements into technical and actionable work.
What will you be doing: • Support business users with scheduling tasks and job workflows within the Workload Scheduler application
• Manage the installation, configuration, and updates existing and new Workload Scheduler applications
• Ensure tasks and job workflows are properly maintained and run at scheduled times
• Create documentation on Workload Scheduler configurations and operational procedures
• Monitor system performance, track task execution, and diagnose any issues or failures
• Respond to performance problems or to any issues that may arise within the Workload Scheduler system and take necessary actions to resolve them effectively
• Works with product or platform teams to ensure good coordination of IT changes without impacting business processes
• Ensures the delivery of efficient and secure IT operations, supports IT systems that fulfil the needs of the business, and provides input to the development team and tech lead as well as to peers responsible for other aspects of operations
• Work on optimizing system performance by adjusting configurations and parameters to enhance task processing and reduce execution times
• Maintain the Workload Scheduler infrastructure lifecycle
• Propose improvements to the current infrastructure architecture and its integrations to the Operating Systems or other technologies
• Work on optimizing costs with running the Workload Scheduler solution in a cloud environment
• Participates in the assessment of other technology capabilities with a focus on suitability for integration with the existing IT operations environment.
What will make you successful:
• Proficiency in configuring and administering Workload Scheduler components, and agents running on a hybrid environment
• Strong understanding of job scheduling concepts, dependencies, and tasks running in SAP systems
• Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery procedures for restoring Workload Scheduler services
• Ability to working with Agile methodologies
• Effective English communication skills (written and verbal) to clearly communicate across the organization
• Very good communication skills
• Initiative and good learning abilities
• Root Cause Analysis mindset
• Scripting skills would be considered an asset.
