About Us
HHLA PLT Italy is a multipurpose maritime terminal started in 2021, located in the fast-growing North Adriatic market. The Expansion Project Team, carried out by the company Logistica Giuliana, is planning and executing a phased project aimed at integrating the current facility into a fully automated state-of-the-art container terminal, utilizing advanced technologies and expertise.
Role Overview
The Operations Team consists of senior and junior profiles bringing Project Management and Operational Planning / Execution know-how from specific terminal experiences. The main activities will involve process design, business analysis, and project management, with regular interfaces with internal departments (Civil Engineering, Equipment, IT & Automation) and external parties (vendors, consultants, HHLA support from headquarters).

Involvement in all multidisciplinary aspects of a complex mixed brown-greenfield terminal project.

Implementation of advanced automation solutions.
A strong collaborative environment.
Clear and measurable personal targets.
Compliance with all safety and security rules and regulations.
Support the department and business unit where required.
Follow the corporate authority matrix and contract policies compliance guidelines.
Report improvement opportunities to direct report.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for curious individuals with at least some key elements from the following skillsets:
Good English (Italian and/or German are a plus).
Previous terminal experience (planning/execution of container operations is key; other experiences in Rail-cargo, RoRo, General Cargo, or non-operational departments of container terminals are valued).
Knowledge of different container handling equipment.
Previous experience in industrial automation and related safety regulations.
Process mapping and design.
Gap analysis techniques.
Data analytics and Continuous Improvement.
AI applications in industrial environments.
Operational simulation methodologies.
Requirement engineering of terminal IT systems.
Project management.
Strong communication skills.
The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and be willing to relocate to Trieste.
