The service we bring to our corporate and financial institutions clients revolves around three main activities - investment banking, financing, and markets - and our global franchises of equity derivatives and natural resources.
Mission:
Société Générale is making a significant investment in expanding its Equity Capital Markets team together with the recently closed integration of Bernstein's sales and trading and research division. The Equity Capital Markets team is a core business of SG's Investment Banking and broader capital markets capabilities and is responsible for the origination and execution of equity capital markets transactions, including equity-linked transactions, for our corporate, financial institution, and sponsor clients. The Italian ECM team is part of a fully integrated global ECM team and works closely with counterparts in EMEA, US, and Asia.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global team at a bank with a renowned IB and Equity franchise. A high level of personal performance, interest, and excellence are fundamental requirements to succeed in this position.
Desired start date: as soon as possible
Tasks and responsibilities:
Work with Managing Directors, Directors, and Vice Presidents to originate and develop new ECM client relationships resulting in equity capital markets transactions.
Collaborate with the broader ECM team, sales, trading, and others to execute ECM transactions for clients.
Prepare ECM-specific client presentations with fine attention to content and detail, participating at the highest level of capital markets transactions with premier global clients.
Handle detailed execution responsibilities for public and private equity capital markets transactions both domestically and abroad, including client-facing and management tasks.
Support origination and execution of transactions, including preparation of marketing materials and coordination with Equity Syndicate, Equity Linked, Industry, and Investment banking teams.
Develop relationships with colleagues abroad and among the Italian coverage and business lines teams.
Manage juniors to keep detailed records of client interactions, execution timelines, and required client follow-up.
Stay updated on market developments and provide relevant market updates to the team, including following global equity capital markets, new issues, investor sentiment, and equity fund flows.
Profile required
Studies & experience:
MBA or Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, and/or accounting.
Existing Associate with at least 3+ years of prior relevant ECM experience.
Language skills:
Proficiency in English and Italian.
Technical, operational & soft skills:
Proficient in corporate financial analysis with the ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and perform comparable analysis.
Expertise in necessary software programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience in working with Bloomberg data, FactSet, and Eikon.
Strong presentation skills, both orally and in writing, with confidence in abilities.
Capacity and desire to understand complex financial structures.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure-oriented environment and deliver under tight deadlines.
Solid interest and understanding of financial markets.
