Since 1957, we have been known for our high-quality, custom-built control packages, our comprehensive service, and our technological and manufacturing expertise. This expertise assures you of our ability to handle the largest and most complex packages quickly and efficiently.
In 1989, the majority interest of the company was purchased by an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Our employees are also shareholders with dedication and commitment to the long-term success of the company.
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the electrical design, programming, and implementation of control systems for industrial processes and machinery. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our control systems.
Job Duties: Review of quote, budget, and conceptual design for adherence to customer specificationsDevelop and design control systems architecture for industrial processes and machineryConfigure, program, and commission PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, and peripheral devicesLead kickoff meetings, design reviews, FATs, and project status meetingsCreate detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and user manualsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and manufacturing to ensure successful project deliveryProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineersCollaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure seamless progressDevelop and execute test plans to validate robust functionality of control systemsProvide regular project updates and reports to stakeholdersStay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in control systems and automationIdentify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of existing control systemsMinimum Qualifications: Associate degree in electrical or Control Systems Engineering required6 years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on industrial automationProficiency in PLC and HMI programming, with experience in industry-standard platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) requiredAutoCAD electrical design requiredStrong understanding of control system design principles and industrial communication protocols requiredExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills requiredFamiliarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial automation requiredAdvanced knowledge of electrical codes requiredAbility to travel domestically up to 50% requiredExcellent communication skills both written and verbal requiredAbility to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check requiredAbility to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more requiredAbility to sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time requiredAlignment with company core values requiredPreferred Qualifications: EPLAN experience preferredFanuc, ABB, Kuka programming preferredBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, HSA, term life, AD&D, STD, LTD100% medical premium paid for by Panelmatic for the employee-only level medical coverage80% paid for by Panelmatic and 20% paid for by the employee on all other level medical coverage (ie employee plus child, employee plus spouse, family)401K, profit sharing, and ESOP contributionsScholarships, educational reimbursement, paid volunteerism, and paid personal and professional development providedPTO and paid holidays providedCareer advancement opportunitiesCompetitive wagesFamily-friendly environment with average employee tenure above five years
