Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments. Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices. Identifies workplace hazards and proposes actions to prevent accident or mitigate the effects of identified risks. Evaluate Safety practice and procedures for risk assessment and following legal guidelines Conduct regular (i.e. daily, weekly) Safety walkthrough with the contractor in the project site to inspect compliance to safety plan; Prepare and submit regular report on safety walkthrough performed with the contractor, overall Safety status and data of the Project and other reports as needed; Address safety concerns raised by project management team and other personnel; Make immediate investigations of accidents/ incidents and report findings and recommendations to the site manager. Identify training needs and facilitates safety classes. Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs. Inspect availability and operability of safety tools and equipment of the contractor. Coordinate with the contractor to ensure good housekeeping and high standards of safety in the workplace at all times; Promotes adherence to and supports all company safety, security and environmental rules, policies and procedures with a zero-tolerance mentality; Provides technical safety support to critical plant or company activities. Assist the HSE Manage in facilitation of s afety committee meetings on a periodic basis. Attend and participate in contractors tool box and sub-committee meetings. Conduct safety orientation to new or newly transferred employees, visitors and contractors guests to impart and improve their safety awareness. Performs other duties and safety related functions as necessary to ensure an accident-free workplace. EDC has become the leading geothermal energy producer in the Philippines through the successful development and operation of numerous geothermal energy projects. Since 1983, the Company has successfully developed, financed, built, and operated seven geothermal steamfields in five geothermal contract areas, containing both wet and dry steam. These steamfields currently supply geothermal steam to geothermal power plants with an aggregate installed capacity of 1,130 MW. In addition, the Company currently, directly and indirectly, owns and operates eleven geothermal power plants with a total installed capacity of 1,181 MW. EDC, through its indirect wholly owned subsidiary Green Core Geothermal, Inc., operates the 192.5MW Palinpinon and 112.5MW Tongonan geothermal power plants. Bacman Geothermal, Inc., another indirect wholly owned subsidiary of EDC, operates the 130MW Bacman geothermal power plant. The Company believes this track record has enabled it to develop the expertise needed to assess the feasibility of future acquisitions and greenfield projects, ensure the safe and efficient construction of power plants, and provide for efficient power plant operations.
