Terna pursues the goals of energy transition through innovation and digitalisation, promoting integration of expertise.Do you want to play a key role in the energy transition and help create the energy system of the future?Terna is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Converter System Design team in the Works and Converter Station Engineering area at its Rome office.The successful Project Engineer/Leader of the Protection, Command and Control System will be responsible for:Engineering/Design of HVDC Systems (LCC and VSC) to consolidate and expand knowledge of:Electromechanical layouts and single-line switchboards;Design of the main components of conversion stations (Transformers, Converters, AC and DC Filters, Smoothing Reactors, etc.
);System studies (static and dynamic conditions with fault simulation) and network integration;Conversion (LCC and VSC converter modelling);Protection, Command and Control System (definition of strategies and RTDS simulations);Preparation of technical specifications, evaluation of offers, oversight of executive projects, participation in design review meetings;Supervision of factory testing (routine tests, type tests and special tests) and of on-site testing, including plant commissioning activities;Management of documentation, monitoring of engineering progress and supplies.Internal/external relationsColleagues on the same team and on other teams in the same area;External relations with both Italian and foreign suppliers and local bodies.Necessary requirementsMaster's/specialist degree in electrical or electrotechnical engineering.
Dissertation/doctorate/research/experience in the HVDC field is preferred;Good knowledge of English;IT knowledge: simulation and modelling programs (ATP/EMTP, PSSE, PSCAD, DGSILENT, MATLAB, etc.
