- Cisco Global Supplier Management (GSM) team is seeking a motivated Sourcing Commodity Manager, with a solid technical background in Optical technologies, for high-speed optical transceivers.
You will be part of a highly impactful and dynamic organization collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers on early technology sensing and sourcing engagement.
- You will work closely with hardware design engineers across Cisco,, to support early supplier assessment and engagement, and to influence Cisco product roadmap.
You will lead and orchestrate the product roadmap alignment between engineering and suppliers, find solutions, create proposals, and execute to meet business requirements, striking a balance between supply continuity, cost, and delivery.
You will
- Investigate and source next generation Optical technologies for high-speed transceivers modules
- Drive RFI/RFQ and business award process
- Provide technical expertise, special knowledge and market trends to engineering
- Align and influence engineering on roadmap and strategy
- Analyze and understand market directions and market intelligence
- Drive value engineering through ideation and execution

**Minimum Requirements For This Role**
- MS in Engineering; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of cross-functional supply chain experience
- Deep knowledge of high-speed optical transceivers and optical & IC components
- Experience in Standard (IEEE/ITU etc.)

- Strong experience with collaboration, communications, negotiations, facilitation, and contracts review.
- Adept at influencing decisions and developing solutions to complex business situations
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ability to work across boundaries, earning trust, taking risk and being inclusive is highly valued
- International travel required
