Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, it is present in more than 70 countries and employs more than 30,000 people of 130 nationalities.Within the Business Line Energy Carriers, the department of Instrumentation, Automation and Telecommunication is looking for a AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS PROJECT ENGINEER.He/she will be in charge of the Control and Safety Systems for international Oil & Gas projects, handling complex Control Systems engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a project and/or specific complex supply such as DCS, SIS, FGS, BMS, MMS, CCS Systems.
The Senior Control Systems Engineer will report to the Lead Automation Engineer assigned to the Project and to the Department Automation Group Leader.Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:To read, analyze, review and mechanize P&IDs.To develop and review Block Diagrams, Control Narratives, Sequence Flow Charts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Instrument Loop Diagrams.To populate and maintain Project Control Systems I/Os Databases.To properly interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements for the preparation of Control Systems design products.To develop Discipline Specifications and Requisitions.To evaluate Specifications and Vendor Quotations.To support Packages/Mechanical Systems Department reviewing Packages/Mechanical Systems suppliers data and descriptions to determine control and instrumentation functional requirements.To assume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.To ensure effective communication among other engineering disciplines.To provide necessary inputs and coordinate documents with suppliers, other disciplines and customers.To be able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.To ensure effective management of change.To mentor junior engineers and facilitate their development both technically and professionally.To cooperate with the Project Lead Automation Engineer for the preparation, application and maintenance of the project procedures and deliverables.To review Control Systems Vendor Functional Design Specifications/Drawings/Procedures/Manuals to ensure their technical compliance.To attend and perform Control Systems FAT/IFAT and SAT and witness the compliance of vendor in meeting the project requirements.To learn the latest technology in instrumentation and controls to maintain current proficiency in the industry and make the best technology recommendations.To interact with Client representatives, Vendors and Subcontractors for technical topics.To guarantee assistance to the Inspection, Construction and Commissioning Departments as per project needs.To support the proposal efforts in projects bids preparing man-hour estimates and planning activities for proposals as required.Requirements/QualificationsMaster's Degree in Automation & Control System Engineering or equivalent.Minimum of 4/5 years related experience in LNG/Gas Process/Refinery and Petrochemical industries.Broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.Detailed knowledge, with direct experience with Control and Safety Systems (i.e.
DCS, ESD/SIS, F&G, PLCs, MMS, CCS, RTU, SCADA).Familiar with Control and Safety Systems codes and standards both domestic and international.SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) knowledge.Past experiences as a Senior Control Systems Engineer with Reputed International EPC Contractor on mid to large scale projects.Past experience on plant erection and commissioning as Control Systems Field Engineer and/or Control Systems Field Supervisor in the Oil & Gas industry.Fluent English speaker and writer.Availability to travel for short and long periods in Italy and abroad.Contract type: permanent, salary package commensurate with the level of experience.
