Outfitting Inspector

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Division: Marine Consulting Level of experience: Intermediate RINA is currently recruiting for a Outfitting Inspector to join its office in Palermo, Italy within the Marine Consulting Division.
Mission RINA Consulting is looking for an Outfitting Inspector for the Marine Consulting Business Unit.
Key Accountabilities Take care of all the inspections regarding construction of the outfitting of the ship (pipes, ducts, cable trays, etc.).
Possess good knowledge of outfitting construction rules and requirements during ship building.
Ability to read and understand outfitting drawings.
Study the outfitting approved drawings.
Verify the correspondence between approved and shipyard construction drawings.
Study all welding procedures applied for the construction of the outfitting.
Verify the welding material certificates and storage according to the requirements.
Expert in mounting and positioning of the outfitting.
Learn the internal procedures of the shipyard from the steel material storage, identification of the material to the completion of the construction and delivery.
Study the shipyard booklets on typical arrangements and mountings of the outfitting.
Take care of the tests required during construction: tightness, strength, NDT: VT, RT, UT, PT.
Verify the performance of all the equipment of the ship according to the contractual requirements.
In cooperation with the shipyard QC department, record and follow up findings and NC related to the outfitting.
Report to the Team Leader.
Education Master's Degree in Naval Engineering Qualifications Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Junior Surveyor or minimum 5 years' experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry.
Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services, and future work.
Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.
Ability to understand engineering plans and have basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
Ability to assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building.
Ability to assess that hull, machinery, and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations through inspections, tests, and trials.
Ability to issue Certificates, Reports, Records, and Status in compliance with rules and regulations.
Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.
Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
Ability to structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources, and constraints.
Ability to recognize and manage emotions in oneself and others.
Ability to embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements.
Ability to build trust relationships across departments and outside the organization.
