NOTE: Position will be filled at the U-05 grade level.
Incumbent may be promoted non-competitively to the next higher grade level upon completion of necessary training and after he/she has met the necessary qualification requirements, quality of experience and upon recommendation of the supervisor.
If you have any questions about this vacancy or the application process, please email us at ****** Hauptaufgaben Incumbent serves as a an Information Technology Specialist within the S6/IMO providing a wide array of support in the IMA.
Provides expert support for installation, configuration and maintenance of all AFSBn-Africa Local Area Networking (LAN) to include troubleshooting all end users devices and CISCO VTC configuration.
Responds to customer support request via trouble tickets for the AFSBn-Africa Tier II operations within a pre-determined amount of time upon receipt.
All assignments require independent performance.
Provides customer assistance to all users, to include Host National Employees throughout the AFSBn-Africa area of responsibility.
Coordinate video teleconferencing (VTC) capabilities, to include testing and scheduling, as required.
Monitors operation of internal Battalion VTC systems/schedule and provides customer assistance in troubleshooting of CISCO VTC equipment (NIPR).
Conducts installation and implementation of new system hardware and software.
Conducts testing to insure operability, interoperability, efficiency, and compliance with existing NETCOM Signal Battalion (NEC) and Department of the Army procedures and regulations.
Reinstalls software as needed and performs required software upgrader as per local Signal Battalion requirements.
Overseas functionality test of hardware and software components to identify and resolve technical issues and ensures on-site remediation of end-users problems.
Translates from Italian into English and vice versa technical and administrative material related to information management such as technical specifications, procurement documents, instructions, security charts and information sheet and instructions, technical review comments and correspondence requiring knowledge of subject matter fields and familiarity with related terminology in the office automation field.
Translations are frequently lengthy and of complex nature, involving difficult phraseology.
Incumbent is required to apply subject matter knowledge and command of a wide variety of technical terminology apart from a normal vocabulary.
Completed translations must be factually, grammatically, syntactically correct and idiomatically fluent in order to reflect truly the original objective of translated material and thus avoiding misinterpretations.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 07.00 to 16.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifikationsanforderungen MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: ?Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the "General Schedule Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management, as summarized below.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the U-06 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Education may be substituted for experience in accordance with the "General Schedule Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management.
