Our Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) and Global Coastal Ocean (GOCO) Divisions are looking for 3 new positions of Scientific Software Developer, responsible for supporting the ASC and GOCO Division in the design, development, and deployment of AI-based applications for climate science, especially related to data-driven ocean forecasting. The Scientific Software Developers applied to Machine Learning report to the ASC and GOCO Directors and are responsible for supporting the ASC and GOCO Division in the design, development, and deployment of AI-based applications for climate science, especially related to data-driven ocean forecasting. REQUIREMENTS M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent fields Experience in Data Science (DS), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL). An added value would be experience in climate and ocean science applications. Advanced knowledge in scientific Python programming. Experience with well-known tools and software libraries for DS, ML and DL (e.g., numpy, pandas, xarray, scikit-learn, matplotlib etc.). Experience with at least one DL framework (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.). Knowledge of HPC and distributed environments, as well as training massive DL models with such environments. Ability to work both independently and in a team. Good knowledge of the English language. ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Strong problem-solving attitude High motivation to learn Experience in managing NetCDF and ZARR data. Contributing to scientific paper production. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The Developers will be based in Lecce CMCC office. The appointment period will be initially of n°12-24 months starting from June 2024 , renewable for n°12 months additional months pending a positive evaluation. The gross annual salary range is from 25 to 40K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience. Welfare package. Flexible working time as per internal policies. Remote working from Europe is considered as an option. Support during the immigration process, if needed. PROTECTED CATEGORY
