Armani Hotel Milan, a 5-star luxury hotel located in the heart of the famous Milan fashion district, is looking for a Director of Lifestyle.
The Director of Lifestyle (DOLS) is responsible for the general administration and profitability of the operation of the Lifestyle and Housekeeping departments. The DOLS ensures that all Rooms Division areas are interfaced and communication between Lifestyle and Housekeeping is flawless.
The DOLS is required to take ownership and accountability for the Lifestyle and Housekeeping operations of Armani Hotel Milan in partnership with the EXCOM and General Manager of the property. Ensure all routine matters are handled effectively without guidance and must be able to interact with employees within immediate business areas.
Maintain and up-date as required a departmental filing system, which ensures that documentation is easily accessible. Adhere to the Company's Procedures and rules, maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring work is of the highest level.
Establish high levels of participation in the project during its pre and post opening stages to set the required operational standards in Lifestyle, SPA, Housekeeping, and Engineering in line with international standards.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lifestyle Ultimately responsible for the guest's "Stay with Armani" Experience. Responsible for the hotel floors and its rooms in regards to maintenance, condition, and sales status. Together with Engineering and Housekeeping team, perform weekly meetings and inspections. Acts as the main contact for the guests prior, during, and after the visit. Responsible to ensure that daily communication is properly done regarding guests arrivals, pre-arrangements, guest preferences, follow-ups, and traces. Is responsible to roster him/herself and the entire Lifestyle Team which reflects the business demands and ensures that all guests (in-house, departure, arrival) are taken care of by the assigned team at all times. Shows visibility also during days off to show support to the Lifestyle Team. Carries out weekly communication meetings with the Lifestyle Team. Attends daily Line-ups and is fully updated with day-to-day hotel operation, arrivals, departures, guests in-house, sunshine guests, events, and guest comments. Attends monthly meetings with the Lifestyle Team to present coaching reports, development plans, attendance reports, and vacation planner. Carries out daily line-ups which are energizing, informative, and reflect the Armani Culture and Values. Ensures that every Brand Ambassador attends one Line-up every day. Is present in the Hotel Lobby to welcome hotel guests and social guests to the Armani Hotel Milan. Is responsible for coaching and developing the Lifestyle team. Is responsible for developing and conducting performance reviews of the Lifestyle team. Conducts site inspections when required. Provides excellent service to internal guests in other departments as deemed appropriate. Works in a close, supportive, and flexible manner with other departments, in a spirit of "We work through Teams". Performance will be measured by guest feedback and Mystery Guest Shoppers Audits. Housekeeping Assists in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all housekeeping activities, maintaining the established standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and attractive condition of rooms, floors, and pantries. Checks the daily Room Occupancy Forecast and Room Report on room and guest occupancies. Knows the Room situation for the day, especially if the hotel is full, and check-in and check-out times to execute or delay certain tasks like Deep Cleaning scheduled for the day. Ensures enough manpower to complete the required tasks for the day. Executes a detailed check to ensure that all are in order according to our Hotel standards; vacated guest rooms are clean and available for check-in. After completion of maintenance work, follows up with the engineering team and by calling and checking with guests. Ensures that all guest room accessories, linen, towels, amenities, and supplies are available and sufficient in stock. Ensures good hygiene and a high level of services to all guests from pre-check-in to check-out. Checks all equipment used in the Housekeeping department every day to ensure they are in working condition. Makes a report to the Engineering department for regular maintenance and/or when the equipment fails to work. Ensures that associates are well trained in handling all tools and equipment used in the Housekeeping department. Is well informed of all emergency exits in the hotel premises and the guided Emergency Procedures, to be able to guide guests and yourself to safety. Provides the highest level of services and comfort to guests, ensuring optimum percentage of return guests. Always keeps a friendly attitude and approach when coming in contact with guests. OTHER DUTIES: Familiar with local culture and governmental policies. Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming. Maintains strong, professional relationships with internal and external guests and relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners, and other organizations, including local schools, hotel schools, and universities. Responds to changes in the function as dictated by the industry, company, and hotel. Exercises responsible management and behavior at all times, positively representing the hotel management team. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Previous experience in similar and/or related fields in a 5-star Hotel. At least 3 years experience at the same level. Hotel Management (desirable).
