Tax Supervisor, ($130k+) Immediate need for a Tax Supervisor with a Top 25 CPA firm in both Richmond and Alexandria, VA. Position Summary: The Tax Supervisor will oversee and manage the tax compliance and planning activities for the firm's clients. This role involves supervising a team of tax professionals, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, and providing strategic tax advice. The ideal candidate will have extensive tax knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities:Supervise the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.Conduct in-depth tax research and planning to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and to identify tax-saving opportunities.Provide strategic tax advisory services to clients, addressing complex tax issues and developing tax strategies.Manage and mentor a team of tax associates, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.Maintain and enhance client relationships through effective communication and delivery of high-quality tax services.Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and timely filing of all required tax documents.Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on clients and advising accordingly.Collaborate with other departments to support business development initiatives and cross-functional projects.Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax operations. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax, with supervisory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Proficiency in tax preparation software (preferably CCH) and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven leadership and team management abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
